Marx's and Althusser's Viewpoints on Theories of Ideology

Theory of ideology is a major category in Marxist philosophy. Althusser made a radical interpretation of Marxist ideology and tried to establish an ideology of ＂structuralism＂. His radical interpretation has greatly forwarded the development of the theory of Marxist ideology. A comparative study of Marx＇s and Althusser;s theories of ideology in respects of the definition, existing ways, significance and functions will be helpful to understand better the nature of the two theories and differences between them.
