作为以体现中国封建士大夫"隐逸文化"为主的古典私宅园林的杰出代表,苏州古典私宅园林在命名立意、置景点题等方面所具有的文化内涵其实并不纯粹。然而,非常客观地存在于苏州古典私宅园林中文化思想的多元融溶,并没有影响其在园林艺术方面所达到的整体之美。从一定意义上来说,苏州古典私宅园林既是一个"和而不同"的例证,"天人合一"的实在,也是"美在和谐之中"的典范。
