There is a phenomenon that some urban young women tend to speak in a child- ish way, namely imitating the verbal features of children. The childish language is non-main- stream variant language. The cause of using such language style lies in the the pragmatic pur-pose which is nurtured by the national social culture. Childish language is used to dispel the a- dult identity. The man-dominant society makes a nurturing context for this phenomenon.
