基于语料库的话语标记语“well”研究

An LLC-based Analysis of Discourse Marker "Well"

综合语篇学、功能语言学和语用学多个视角,运用伦敦—隆德英语口语语料库(LLC),对话语标记语well的使用情况进行了全面分析。数据显示:well在电话会话语篇中的使用频率高于面对面进行的会话语篇中;谈话方式越不正式,其使用频率越高;谈话者之间的关系越近,其使用频率也越高。就搭配规律而言,well频繁与其他标记语搭配使用;就出现位置而言,well最常见于话轮首位。研究证实,well作为话语标记语主要在会话结构域、内容域、人际交往域内发挥其功能。

Adopting an integrative analytic perspective of Text Linguistics, Functional Linguistics and Pragmatics, this study conducts a corpus - based analysis of discourse marker （DM） ＂well＂ in natural, casual English. Data show that the munber of tokens of ＂well＂ in telephone conversations is higher than that in face - to - face conversations. The results also show that ＂well＂ is used frequently in informal conversations. The occurrence of ＂well＂ is closely related to the relationship between conversation participants--the more closed the relationship is, the more frequently ＂well＂ will be used. According to the data statistics, ＂well＂ occurs most frequently in turn and TCU - initial position. In addition, it frequently occurs with other items. It mainly functions within the Conversational Structure Domain, the Content Domain and the Interpersonal Domain.
