贺铸是北宋中后期可以与周邦彦相提并论的一位大家,他是个文武全才,诗文词兼善,却一生不得重用,只得将自己沉沦下僚的压抑情怀、仕进隐退的矛盾心情融进自己的作品之中。其《青玉案.凌波不过横塘路》,借对美人的思慕,将自己退居吴下之后,寂寞离索、抑郁苦闷的心情抒写得淋漓尽致。
