The basic national policy of gender equality is for the first time written into the report of the Eigh- teenth National Congress of the CPC, which sufficiently exhibits the Party and the state＇ s emphasis on gender e- quality. This article interprets the scientific connotation of the basic national policy of gender equality, analyzes the background of writing this policy into the report of the Party Congress, explains the contemporary value of this policy, and clarifies the key points for carrying through this policy.
