长期以来,教育学究竟是人文科学还是社会科学颇有争论。究其实,探讨教育学的学科性质问题不仅要结合当下教育及教育学的现实处境,更要结合教育及教育学的学科要旨;不仅应重视研究结论的合理性,更应重视探索过程的逻辑性。从根本上讲,教育学的学科属性决定于其研究对象。教育学的研究对象是人类的一切教育现象,可分为宏观教育事业现象和微观教育活动现象。研究教育事业现象的宏观教育学,其学科属性明显倾向社会科学;研究教育活动现象的微观教育学,其学科属性当属人文科学。综合而言,教育学属于典型的人文社会科学。

Pedagogy takes all human educational phenomena as its research subjects, including both macro educational undertakings and micro educational activities. Macro pedagogy, which concerns on educational undertakings, belongs to social sciences; Micro pedagogy, which concerns on educational activities, belongs to humanities. A comprehensive view is that pedagogy is typical of humanities and social sciences.
