A Discussion of the Effect of Love in Toni Morrison’s Love

托尼·莫里森是当今美国文坛最重要的黑人女作家之一,黑人妇女问题一直是她创作的重点题材。她深受女权主义影响,把争取种族平等和妇女解放作为终身事业。《爱》是她2003年新发表的一部作品,体现了她对黑人社会的新思考。不同于以往的作品,在这部小说中莫里森将关注的焦点放在人黑人社会内部,通过对其内部矛盾的揭露,试图寻找一种方法使黑人在白人主导的主流社会中找到自己的身份。

Toni Morrison is one of the greatest African American women writers. The issues of the African American women are what she focused on. Being influenced by the feminism, she put her soul into the liberation of the women. Love is created in 2003 which represents her new thought about the Mrican American community. Alike the former works, in this novel Morrison centers on the internal conflicts of the African American community, trying to figure out a new way to find their identity in the white-dominated society.
