Railway freight transportation is an essential part in the logistics sy stem and is also the part need to be improved urgently. On the purpose of promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of railway freight traffic organization, the article analyzes generally the trend and effect of modem logistics and discusses the reform of railway freight transportation system based on the modem logistics conception, combined with the existing problems in railway freight traffic organization from the aspects of information system, management model, relevant facilities and human resource management mechanism.
