Four Erroneous Tendencies of Current Works on Cultural Relics Conservation A Speech at the Commemorative Conference for the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Law on the Protection of Cultural Relics

谢辰生先生在全国人大纪念《文物保护法》颁布30周年大会上关于《当前文物工作的四种错误倾向》的发言,在文物界内外引起广泛的反响,有的业外期刊已先行发表,受到广大文物保护工作者的热议和好评。最近谢辰生先生提出希望在《中国文物科学研究》上将其发言全文发表以饗读者。其实,这"四种错误倾向"的存在和提出,已是上世纪90年代和世纪之交期间的事情。但是,至今仍然具有很强的现实的针对性,值得有关方面高度关注。今天的现实情况比诸十多年前并无多少好转,有的问题甚至表现得更为严重。谢老在发言中又针对当前现实作了深刻的补充论述。为此,本刊尊重谢老意见,将谢老发言的全文登载。

Organized by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress,Mr.Xie Chensheng delivered this speech at the commemorative conference for the thirtieth anniversary of the Law on the Protection of Cultural Relics.This speech has been widely acclaimed and appreciated by professionals in the field of cultural relics.Although the raising of the four erroneous tendencies could date back to the turn of the century,they are still pertinent and warning to us.Therefore,attentions and concerns should be paid by relevant agencies to the fact that some of the problems have been even more serious than a decade ago.In the speech,Mr.Xie presented critical insights into the problematic reality on cultural relics protection.The journal,at the request of Mr.Xie,would like to publish the full text of the address.
