目的系统探讨图基(John W.Tukey,1915—2000)对稳健统计学的发展所作出的贡献。方法历史分析和文献考证。结果截尾均值的运用是稳健统计学的良好开端,位置参数的稳健估计为稳健统计学的发展提供了必要的手段,稳健统计学在时间序列分析中的成功应用,标志着稳健统计学已经进入了成熟阶段。结论图基在整个稳健统计学的发展过程中起着至关重要的作用。

Aim To explore John W. Tukey＇s （1915--2000） contribution to the development of Robust Statistics. Methods Historical investigation and literature analysis. Results Using the trimmed mean is a good starting for the robust statistics, location estimator provided a necessary way to the development, the application in time series stood for that the robust statistics has devloped into a mature period. Conclusion John W. Tukey is one of the founders of robust statistics, his research plays an important role in the development of robust statistics.
