Geographic Distribution of Styracaceae

野茉莉科(又名安息香科)植物具有重要的药用、经济和观赏价值,全世界共12属,约170种,主要分布于亚洲东南部和美洲的热带、亚热带地区,仅有1种见于欧洲南部的温暖地区。本科植物在全世界有两个分布中心:一个位于我国秦岭和长江以南至南岭以北以及华西南地区,可能为该科植物早期发生和分化的关键地区;一个位于热带南美洲。归纳与总结了该科各大属地理分布的研究现状,并指出了未来该科植物的研究方向。

The plants of Styracaceae are of great medicinal, economic and ornamental value. All around the world, there are 12 genera and about 170 species of this family. They are main- ly in tropical and subtropical areas of south-east Asia and the Americas, only 1 species found in warm regions of southern Europe. This family is mainly distributed in two areas in China. One is located in the southern part of Qinling and Yangtze River to the northern part of Nanling and southwest China. Here may be the key areas of early origin and differentiation of the plants of Styracaceae. The other differentiation centre is in tropical southern America. This paper sum- marizes the distribution of the genera of Styracaceae and points out the future research direction of this family.
