With the deterioration of water environment, it is imperative to improve the efficiency of water environment monitoring, and there are limitations when using traditional monitoring methods. As the contradiction between real needs and the shortcomings of traditional monitoring methods become serious, the remote sensing is applied to water environment monitoring. This article describes the basic principles and methods of remote sensing in water environment monitoring, and summarizes the application of remote sensing in water pollution monitoring and control. Finally, it presents its development trend. The purpose of this article is to summarize the current application of remote sensing in water environment and provide study guides for the beginners.
