Community Empowerment in Taiwan

首先说明"社区营造"运动的社会条件与发展历程。"社区营造"关乎社会、经济、文化与政治等层面的议题。其次,讨论空间专业者在这个运动中所扮演核心的角色;透过了参与"城乡新风貌"的政策,空间专业者获得许多实践的机会。第三,选择从事社区营造与创造城乡新风貌的主要团队"淡水社区工作室"的实践经验作为讨论对象,以二个将设计带到生活世界中的工程案来说明社区营造如何落实在真实的生活空间中。

This article first explores the social conditions and different stages of the ＂community empowerment＂ movement. ＂Community empowerment＂ concerns social, economic, cultural and political issues. Second, this article discusses the fundamental role played by the spatial professionals in this community movement. Through participating in the ＂townscape development＂ policy, spatial professionals gained many opportunities to practice. Third, this article chooses the practical experience of the ＂community action team, Tamsui＂ as the principal subject of discussion because this local team primarily focuses its work on community empowerment and townscape development. This article explains how community empowerment is practiced in real life by means of discussing two construction projects that bring design into people＇s living world.
