《法国中尉的女人》是当代世界文坛享有盛名的英国作家约翰.福尔斯的代表作。作者没有沿袭俗套来讲述故事,而是在小说的形式和创作技巧上进行革新,采用了戏仿、元叙事、多角度叙述、叙事拼贴、时代交错等创作手法,布置了多维立体的结构和开放的情节进程,成为现代小说叙事艺术成功探索的范例。小说自1969年问世以来,得到了国内外文学评论家们的广泛关注,文学评论家们对该小说的思想内容和后现代主义写作技巧分别作了深入探讨。本文通过对这部作品叙事视角的研究,进一步探讨小说的后现代主义特征。

The French lieutenant＇s woman is the masterpiece of John Fowles, a world well-known Brit- ain writer. Instead of telling the story in a traditional way, he innovated its form and technique by a- dopting parody, meta-narrative, multiangle narration, narrative collage and times crisscross. In addi- tion, he arranged a three dimensional structure and an open plot process, which made it a successful example of artistic exploration of modern novel narration. Since 1969, it has been popular with the critics at home and abroad. Simultaneously, the novel＇s contents and its post-modern writing tech- niques were deeply studied by those critics. Its characteristics of post-modernism are discussed by ex- ploring the perspective of the novel.
