In the context of world heritage and combining other related laws and documents, the paper tries to reflect on the protective restoration project of Qing-ming Bridge historic block along the Great Canal （Wuxi section） .The conclusion based on the field investigation indicates that a standardized procedure is used to creating the landscape of the Great Canal, and the traditional settlements are giving way to the standardized business spaces.
