The Concentricity Test Technology for Fiber Ceramic Ferrules

摘要 光纤陶瓷插芯是光纤连接器的核心部件,其同心度直接影响光纤连接器的插入损耗和回波损耗,进而影响光纤通信系统的传输性能。在出厂前,每一枚陶瓷插芯的同心度必须经过严格的测试。阐述目前插芯生产厂家测量光纤插芯同心度的检测方法,并提出采用基于数字图像处理方法对光纤陶瓷插芯的同心度进行测试,实验表明该方法具有较好的测试准确性和重复性。 Fiber ceramic ferrules are the core parts of fiber optic connectors. The insertion loss and return loss of connectors are directly impacted by the concentricity of the ferrules. Therefore, the transmission performance of fiber communication system will be influenced. Before shipping the concentricity of every ferrule is tested critically in factory. The current used test methods for the concentricity of ferrules in various ferrule manufacturers are elaborated, and a test method of concentricity based on digital image process is proposed. Experiment results show that it has better test accuracy and repeatability.
