摘要 Whilst land plants are sessile organisms, plant cells possess highly dynamic intracellular scenarios that are associated with plant growth and development as well as adaptive responses to environmental stimuli. Owing to the technical progresses in plant cell biology such as the development of live cell imag-ing and florescent labeling approaches, the dynamic charac-teristics of intracellular organelles and molecules have been extensively studied in the past several years. In keeping up with this growing field in plant biology, Molecular Plant pub-lished a special issue focusing on cellular dynamics (Volume 4, Number 5, 2011), which has been freely accessible online since September 2012.
