在特定的政治、历史背景及区域环境下,姓氏分布对区域文化之特质有着重要影响,这种影响往往是通过杰出人物(包括地方社会精英)独特的历史作用而实现的。皖江流域上、中、下游经由了历史上不同姓氏族群的文化创造,形成了彼此相异的文化特质,可见区域文化底蕴往往是历史上人口迁移及其基础上的姓氏族群分布使然。而从文化发展的规律来看,惟有不同族群间多元文化的有机交融和有序互动,文化才能保持永久活力。

Under particular conditions of political and historical eras and specific areas,the distribution of surnames would exert vital effects on the forming of regional cultures. These effects often came from the distinct role of historical celebrities ( including local social elites) . The front part, middle part and back part of Wanjiang River had formed different cultural characters gradually through the culture creations by different surnames and ethnicities,and this fact shows that the cultural forming of one region is frequently prompted by the migrations and the distribution of surnames after them. The rules of cultural development show that the vitality of cultures can be persisted with only through the harmonious integration and the orderly interaction between the diverse cultures in the different ethnicities.
