摘要
In 2012, China and South Korea celebrated 20 years of diplomatic relations. Cooperation between the two has made progress across the board. They have also improved understanding and trust. They enjoy better economic and trade contacts, they have upgraded exchanges, and promoted communication in regional and international affairs over these two decades. Nevertheless, there are some thorny issues that cannot be ignored. In the past few years, South Korea＇s economy has grown rapidly; it has upgraded its military and is now enjoying a more prominent international status. South Korea is now considering how it must deal with China＇s own rise. It is very important for both countries to construct healthy and stable bilateral relations.
After China and South Korea established diplomatic relations two decades ago,bilateral ties made great progress.However,economic interdependence is limited,and there is conflict over North Korea,interpretation of history,maritime rights and other issues.The two need to adjust their mutual understanding,improve cooperation,adopt more explicit strategy,take measures to improve bilateral exchanges,and get their public behind improving bilateral relations.
