摘要 "修辞三角"理论是西方修辞学重要理论之一,可追溯到亚里斯多德《修辞学》中的"修辞三要素",后经过不断地完善与充实,最终发展成为语篇语义的研究方法。Kinneavy将"修辞三角"理论运用于语篇分析和写作教学研究中,并取得了卓有成效的理论成果和实践效果。本文在Kinneav"y修辞三角"理论的框架下,探讨学术英语写作的修辞性,提出EAP写作具有三重修辞属性,即内容的知识性、过程的主体间性以及效果的劝说性。最后,就本研究对我国EAP写作教学研究所具有的理论及教学启示进行尝试性探讨,指出大学学术英语研究应当多关注现代修辞理论,转变教学观念,切实提高学生EAP写作能力。 As one of the significant theories of western rhetoric, Rhetorical Triangle, takes its root in Rhetorical Appeals of Aristotle's Rhetoric and has been blossomed into a way of study on discourse analysis. Kinneavy applied Rhetorical Triangle to the field of composition study and made remarkable achievements in theories and applications. The paper, within the framework of Rhetorical Triangle, offers a rhetorical approach to English for Academic Purposes (EAP)writing with the aim to explore the rhetoricity Of EAP writing. Three attributes of EAP writing, namely, knowledge, intersubjectivity and persuasiveness, are proposed and, then theoretical and pedagogical implications of the study for Chinese EAP writing are tentatively explored. It drew the conclusion that, to change current teaching ideas and improve students' EAP writing, it is necessary to apply modem rhetorical theories into EAP teaching and research.
