"Not eating miscellaneous foods" is a traditional viewpoint in TCM dietetic life nurturing, which was taken as the theoretic basis by ancient literature for researching incompatible foods. Because of the literature related to the saying, "not eating miscellaneous foods", is so age-old, its source is not clear and there are a lot of errors in the course of copying. The paper proved that a paragraph of text in Bowuahi wrote "za shi" as "sui shi" by mistake. And the saying, "Eating sui shi is not encouraged, because it may offend some taboo" in Beifiqianjinyaofang, Yixinfang and Taipingyulan was originated from WANG Shu-he, a famous physician in the Western Jin Dynasty. The author of Yangshenglun contained in Taipingyulan is not GAO Zhan, but ZHANG Zhan in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, and what is called Yangshenglun is actually Yangshengyaoji.
