Now the numerical simulation of solidification microstructure is a most interested research field and phase-field method is an effective tool of simulating solidification microstructure. The paper introduced the principle of numerical simulation using phase-field method, reviewed the present development condition in this area at home and abroad, and pointed out the development directions in the future.
