The effects of Nb2O5, rare earth oxides, Cs2SO4, Sb2O3 and small amount of ZnO, Pd and P2O5 on the total yield, and the selectivities for phthalic anhydride and maleic anhydride in the catalytic oxidation of o-xylene have been studied. The total yield can exceed 100% at a charge stock of 70 g/kg.h.
