许祥龄"客游"海州盐运分司克福庭,得以结识李汝珍,二人"情义交孚,遂称莫逆";许祥龄的《镜花缘》评点侧重揭示出《镜花缘》的救世用心、女性命运以及叙事技法,其评点也印上了乾嘉学派的影子。
It is through Ke Futing, an official of salt transportation management in Haizhou, that Xu Xiangling got to know Li Ruzhen, the author of Jing Hua Yuan. The two became close friends since then. In his comments on Jing Hua Yuan, Xu Xiangling focused on its intention of salvation, the fate of women and its narrative skills. His comments are tinted with the style of Qianjia School.
