To draw up environmental impact reporting forms （EIRFs）is the basis of the environmental impact assessment （EIA） process. Three working stages in the course of preparing the EIRF for a construction project, i.e. the set-up stage, drafting stage, and revising and finalising stage, were presented. Key points, likely encountered problems and solving ways in the course of each working stage were summadsed.
