It mostly occurs following severe trauma as well as major surgery, which might be complicated with hypovolemic shock as well as disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Its mortality is - timated to be more than 30%. It is estimated that each year over 5 million people-particularly young individualsdie as a result of violence or accidents. In the recent years, the knowledge about pathophysiology of coagulopathy in massive hemorrhage has been comprehensive, and the therapeutic approach improved.
