According to the orientation of running the new building local university and students＇ characteristics, the paper focuses on the problem of how to improve the quality of teaching complex function of en- gineering mathematics. Based on the teaching requirements for the complex function in science and engineering professionals, the problem is discussed from the point of seizing the characteristics of the students, reforming teaching methods, selecting proper teaching content and strengthening the teacher-student interaction.
