脉冲泵浦铒镱共掺光纤放大器的动态

Dynamical Response of Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+) Co-doped Double-clad Fiber Amplifiers under Pulse Wave Pumping

摘要 双包层Er3+/Yb3+共掺光纤放大器是一种新型光纤放大器,这里基于速率方程的"离散"算法,实现了脉冲泵浦方式下该型放大器动态特性的分析。研究了脉冲泵浦方式下,输入信号的动态响应。结果表明:当脉冲持续时间等于1.5 ms时,输入信号的放大会终止,到下一脉冲来临时,信号放大又快速地上升到最大值;当脉冲持续时间为0.15 ms时,输入信号的放大不会终止,但随着脉冲持续时间的增大,信号输出功率会越来越小。 Er^3+/Yb^3+ co-doped double-clad fiber amplifier is a new fiber amplifier. Based on discrete algorithm of rate equations, the dynamic response of Er^3+/Yb^3+ co-doped double-clad fiber amplifier under pulse wave punping is analyzed. The results indicate that the signal amplifier would stop when pulse duration equals 1.5ms, and then the signal amplification would be rapidly up to the maximun when next pulse arrives. This study also shows that the signal amplifier would not stop at the pulse duration of O. 15ms, but the output power would gradually decrease with the increase of pulse duration.
