The terminal temperature difference of a high-pressure （HP） heater reflects its performance and control level. It is an important index reflecting the performance of a high-pressure heater to keep the terminal temperature difference in a rational range. A retrofit was made to a high-pressure heater by lifting its water level and changing its control system, after which the control for both the lower terminal temperature difference and water level is obviously improved, resulting in evident economic benefits.
