Both Eileen Chang's Lust, Caution and Doris Lessing's Good Terrorists have as their subject the complex relations between political action and personal relationships within a feminist paradigm. The heroines are indefinable and unacceptable by the predominant male literature, for they seem "odd" by the standards of patriarchal poetics. In fact both writers focus on portraying authentic female images and their inner world with politics as the background. They successfully deconstruct the traditional image of female revolutionaries by representing the weakness and complexity of women nature. They resist the patriarchal literary standards and fight for true female literary authority by telling their own stories.
