摘要
在其代表作《赫索格》中,索尔.贝娄通过对人性、对社会、对处于物质丰富而精神贫乏社会中知识分子的生存状态生动形象的描述,非常艺术地传递出诸多积极的价值取向与诉求。人本为怀是该小说文本价值的核心,叙议交融则是其重要呈现模式。叙述者以充满智慧、形式多样的叙议交融方式对叙事进程实施或隐或显的干预,以塑造信念、提升事件蕴含、概括作品意义,最终为作品建构出叙述者所希望具有的以人为本的价值意义与道德规范。
In his representative novel HERZOG, through vivid descriptions of human nature, society and the existence of the intellectual protagonist in a material-rich but spirit-poor society, Saul Bellow embodies artfully positive humanist values and pursuits. Man-centeredness is the core text value of the novel, and narrating merged with commenting its vital presentation model. The narrator, in witty and various ways of narration merged with commenting, intervenes in the narrating routines covertly or overtly in order to formulate beliefs and concepts, enriches the implications of events, and generalizes the textual significances, thus establishing and realizing his expected humanist values and moral standards.
