古代徽州宗族非常重视蒙学教育,常在族谱的家训中予以强调,将其与国家、家族的盛衰联系在一起,从儒家伦理道德、日常行为规范和基本知识技能三方面确定其教育内容,并确立尽早启蒙、循序渐进、因材施教、环境熏陶和均爱勿偏等符合现代教育规律的教学原则与方法。

Ancient Huizhou clans attached great importance to children＇s enlightenment education, and often emphasized it in pedigree＇s family instructions. Because it＇s related to the rise and fall of the country and the family, its teaching contents range from Confucian ethics, daily code of conduct to basic knowledge and skills. And its teaching principles and methods include as follows： enlightening children as early as possible, proceeding in an orderly way and step by step, teaching students in accordance of their aptitude, paying attention to environment edification and treating every student equally. All these are in accordance with the law of modem education.
