《星期六》是英国当代著名作家伊恩.麦克尤恩的第九部小说,小说出版后广受评论界的关注。小说主人公贝罗安医生一方面显示出英国人身上特有的民族优越感及自豪感,英国仍然是一个崇尚理性、井然有序、等级森严的地方;另一方面其生活环境和工作环境却充满了欧洲风味和美国气息,强烈地冲击着他的传统文化身份,使他面临着"我是谁,我该成为谁"的身份认同困境。
Saturday is the ninth novel of British Novelist Ian McEwan, after the publication of the novel, it is paid close at- tention by the critics. On one hand, the protagonist Dr. Beroan shows the people the unique national superiority and pride, Brit- ain remains a rational, in order, the hierarchy of the place; on the other hand, the living environment and working environment is full of Europe and the United States of America breath flavor, a strong impact on his traditional cultural identity, so he faced the identity dilemma ＂who I am, who I become＂.
