Folk Academic Learning: A New Dimension in the Survey of Contemporary Academic History

中国现代化发展在知识生产领域引起的显著变革是官学的一统江山被打破,民间学术重焕生机,蔚然而成当代中国学术史上的一道醒目风光,更成为考察乃至重写中国学术史不可忽视的一个新向度。三十多年来民间学术在当代中国的复兴,是中国社会转型及民间社会在社会精神文化层面的体现;民间社会是民间学术生存发展的土壤和条件;学术自主性是民间学术的本质特征和灵魂,因此,法理意义上的民间社会的生成和发展对民间学术的前途及命运至关重要。而建构和捍卫学术的自主性,则是民间学术自身建设的重心所在。

The prominent change that the Chinese modernization has brought about is the breakthrough of the official academic learning, and thus folk academic learning has appeared, which introduces a new dimension in rewriting Chinese academic history. The rising of folk academic learning in the past thirty years is a reflection of China＇s social transformation and spirit and culture. Folk society is the root and folk academic existence and development, and academic independence is its essence and soul, so it＇s necessary to make law to guarantee folk academic learning, independence is the core in the construction of folk academic learning.
