The effect of the ionic strength on the iontophoresis of ondansetron(ON) in vitro was studied, and the effect was changed by addition of different amounts of NaCl to the donor cell.It was shown that the steady state flux of the drug decreased as the concentration of NaCl and the ionic strength in the donor was increased. The decrement of the steady state flux was attached to the change of thermal activity of ON and the existence of ion competition.
