创刊于"五四"运动前夕的《新教育》杂志,依托举办机构聚焦国际知名教育家的来华考察活动,助推科学教育;译介实验教育主张,关注国内教学实验的施行情况,对"实验主义"推崇备至。《新教育》的办刊活动和教育主张,在20世纪20年代宣传科学教育的洪流中独树一帜。

The New Education magazine was first published on the eve of the May 4th Movement. Relying on the advantage of the host institution platform, it focused on the inspections and activities of international famous educators who came to China, such as Dewey, Monroe, Mccoll, which boosted the development of science education in China . At the same time, the magazine had translated and introduced the opinions of experimental education. The editors paid close attention to the domestic implementation of teaching experiment and adored most to the Experimentalism. Due to the turning point of the Mccoll＇ s visit to China, it brought a lot of help in developing the test movement of modern education in China. In the 1920 s, the activities and educational proposal of the magazine had played a distinct role in the stream of publicizing science education.
