Rational Thinking of Chinese Modernity

不可抗拒的现代性,使中国传统的政治、经济和文化结构面临着前所未有的变迁和重组,由此产生了保守和激进等截然相反的态度和立场,并最终形成了激进与革命的主流话语。但历史经验与现实遭遇启示我们,审慎的理性态度才是社会进步的根本力量,惟有以之为基础,才可能实现经济的平衡、政治的宽容、文化的繁荣,才可能构建一个更加健康的和谐社会。

It is the irresistible modern that makes the traditional Chinese political, economic and cultural structure face unprecedented change and restructuring, which resulting the opposite attitudes and stands, and forming a mainstream of radical and revolutionary eventually. However, the historical experience and the real- ity show that the prudent rational attitude is the fundamental force of social progress ; only with the foundation, can it achieve the economic balance, political tolerance, cultural prosperity, and build a healthier and more harmonious society.
