In project construction, effectively predict and control project cost is a prerequisite for project profits. Aiming at engineering construction preparation stage, this paper discusses the basis of project cost prediction and control, the principle for cost control, the methods of cost prediction and control. The methods are verified with engineering examples that performing cost prediction and control in construction preparation stage and clearing the cost and profit targets can achieve the result that in project implementation stage.
