摘要
Grice认为,人们在日常会话中总是遵循一套相互合作的基本准则,即合作原则。作为对合作原则的补充,Leech继而提出了礼貌原则用以"拯救"合作原则。实际上,人们并不总是因为礼貌才违反合作原则的。1987年,Levinson提出了他称之为"新格莱斯语用机制"的会话含义三原则,试图重新构建会话含义理论。本文将从新旧格莱斯会话含义理论分别阐释礼貌原则的运用。
Grice noted that people was always observing a general cooperative principle in daily conversation. Then Leech pointed out politeness principle as a complement of cooperative principle. However, as a matter of fact, the violation of cooperative principle is not always caused by politeness. Levinson concluded neo-Gricean pragmatic apparatus which provides a theoretical support for his neo-Gricean theory of conversational implicature in 1987 to try to reconstruct the theory of conversational implicature. ,This paper will analyze the application of politeness principle in classic and neo-Gricean theory of implicature.
