Based on a linguistic anthropological study on the names of the Salars, this article states that the Salars was from the Qaramang tribe, which, along with the Karaman of Turkmenistan and Turkey and the Nurta Salur of Uzbekistan, was from Karaman, a famous leader and a descendant of the Salur Oghuz tribe. The name of Salr is from Salur, Salgur, *Saragur and *Sarg Ogur historically. Sarg Ogur means 'yellow arrows (tribe)', and it was once an important part of the Huns. The Salars along with other Oghuz peoples has the same ancestors with the Oghur which is the ancestors of the Uyghurs and the Yellow Uyghurs.
