萧克的《浴血罗霄》通过对红军时期司令郭楚松、政委杜崇惠、参谋长黎苏等率领的罗霄纵队的战斗生活的描写,重点塑造了郭楚松、杜崇惠、黎苏、黄晔春、朱彪、冯进文、曾士虎等人物形象,再现了红军艰苦卓绝而又复杂的斗争历史,展现了红军的成长历程,歌颂了红军的革命英雄主义和革命乐观主义精神,谴责了极左行为;小说现实主义色彩浓郁,注重"个性化"手法的运用,场面描写精彩,语言质朴,富有生活气息,运用了点面结合的手法;同时,小说也存在着叙述过于平淡、人物大多不够饱满、情节不够引人入胜等缺憾。
