In the history of modem Chinese culture and thought, Mr. Lu Xun is revered by the people like a legend. He is a great thinker, revolutionary and writer. But more importantly, after the ＂May Fourth Movement＂, he was the first who advocated book binding and who practiced it on his own books. This article explores the background, style, philosophy, visual elements considering the book binding art of Lu Xun, and reviews Lu Xun＇s contribution to the book binding design ideas. It is aimed to make an objective analysis of the concept of Lu Xun＇ s book binding and its contribution to national inheritance and book binding design ideas from the historical perspective.
