Exploration of Villagers Discriminating against HIV Positives and AIDS Patients

目的 了解农村HIV感染者及AIDS患者在病情公开后,村民的异常反应,感染者及患者的处境与心理状态.探讨相应对策.方法 现场调查,询问有关当事者,倾听HIV感染者及AIDS患者的陈述,摘录有关病历资料.结果 农村HIV感染者及AIDS患者遭受歧视,处境艰难,心理压力极大.结论 应进一步加强HIV/AIDS基本知识与管理法规的宣传,农村干部、村医生、乡镇司法干部是重点对象.

Objective To promote the understanding of how response the villagers have to HIV positives and AIDS patients whose HIV/AIDS status are divulged in the villages, and acquire the information of the HIV positives and AIDS patients' living environment and their psychological response and, find out the appropriate policies to counteract the discrimination against HIV positives and AIDS patients from their folks. Methods The field survey, the inquiry to the persons concerned and the statements of HIV positives and AIDS patients were employed. The data of case records as to HIV positives and AIDS patients were used. Results The HIV positives and AIDS patients in the villages investigated were discriminated against by villagers and they had more or less psychological pressure and lived in straitened circumstances. Conclusion It is suggested that the education and propaganda of HIV/AIDS knowledge and management regulations be strengthened and, village cadres, village medical staff, village and town judicial cadres be key members educated and propagated.
