摘要
多元文化教育产生于20世纪60年代的美国,它提倡尊重文化差异,包容多元文化价值观,以培养多元文化公民为目标。多元文化教育的倡导者班克斯认为,学校应当采取一种多元文化主义公民资格观,承认少数族群学生的权利与需要,引导他们树立一种对族群文化、国家文化、全球共同体的认同感与归属感,建立一种与世界人民的人类连接。
Multicultural education has developed in the U.S. since the 1960s. It promotes respect for cultural differences,inclusive and diverse values and its aim is to cultivate multicultural citizens. The advocate of multicultural education,Banks,argues that schools should adopt a multiculturalism citizenship concept, and recognize the rights and needs of minority ethnic students. It should foster a sense of identification and ascription to their ethnic culture,national culture and global communities so as to establish a consciousness and connectionwith people all over the world.
