Charge-coupled device (CCD) is widely used in Tokamak in recent years to measure the two dimensional radiations from plasmas owing to its sensitivity, easy to use and good data visualization. A high speed CCD diagnosis system has been set up and used to diagnose the MHD (magnetohydrodynamics) instabilitiy in HT-7 and EAST Tokamaks. Sawtooth and Mirnov oscillations in HT-7 Tokamak and ELM (edge-localized modes) process in EAST H-mode discharges are measured by CCD. The primary experimental results provide the base for further space and time evolution study of MHD instability by using high-speed CCD diagnosis.
