The case study of legal English translation in the view of functional translation theory

功能翻译理论自德国翻译理论家莱斯提出以来,经过费米尔、曼塔利和诺德等几代人的研究与发展已自成体系,并在翻译实践中发挥了重要的理论指导作用。将功能翻译理论与法律英语相结合,重在目的论,以功能理论代表人物的思想为框架,根据其理论重点,选取较为典型的翻译文本进行针对性的实例研究和分析,探讨以功能翻译理论指导法律英语翻译实践。

Ever since the functional translation theory was put forward by the Germany translation theorist Reiss, it had been studied and developed by many scholars, such as Vermeer, Manttari and Nord Nowadays, the functional translation theory is rather systematic and it plays an important role in guiding the practice of translation. This paper studies the translation of legal English based on the functional trans- lation theory. In the view of functional translation theory and teleology, the paper first introduces the basic content of the theory and ideology of its representatives, then explores typical translation texts and analyzes practical issues of legal English translation
