In recent years, the research and applications of Urban Stormwater Management（USM） have developed rapidly and thereby attract worldwide attention Meanwhile, the concept and technologies of ＂Internet of Things （lOT）＂ also grow vigorously. It is believed that the combination of USM and IOT will inevitably benefit each other. The conception and category of Urban Stormwater Intelligent Management（USIM） were introduced. Then the definition, origin and development of IOT were also discussed in detail. The application methods of ＂combining IOT with USIM＂ were investigated while the relevant problems and obstacles were put forward. Some suggestions were further proposed to help decision-making and in-depth research on ＂combining lOT with USIM＂ of China in the future.
