改革开放初期,我国各行各业都面临新的挑战,传统的师范教育越来越暴露出它的弊端。天津师范大学原校长李继之敏锐地抓住时机,提出了师范教育改革的新思路:要遵循师范教育发展的规律,借鉴发达国家教师教育的经验,拓展师范院校的培养目标,提倡师范性与学术性相结合,走综合大学培养教师的道路。这些思想对我们今天的教师教育改革仍然具有指导意义。
