摘要
作为中国近现代著名的教育家,郭秉文先生在担任南京师范高等专科学校和国立东南大学校长期间,及日后从事国际文化教育交流工作之时,提出了通过加强国际间交流,共同培育世界精神,以教育强国、以教育促进世界和平、以教育服务全人类的和平教育理念,它们是中国近代教育史上一笔宝贵的精神财富,在21世纪的今天依然有着深刻的现实意义。
Guo Bingwen was an influential educator in modern China. He was president of Nanjing Higher Normal School and president of the National Southeast University successively and participated actively in international cultural and educational exchanges. Guo Bingwen put forward the idea of foste ring the world spirit by promoting international exchanges and also suggested education as a means to develop the national strength, to advance world peace, and to serve humanity. These peace education thoughts are more than precious spiritual wealth in the history of modern Chinese education ？ they have profound practical significance even in the 21st centurv.
